Broken Art Tattoo
Privacy Policy
Effective August 30, 2026.
Broken Art Tattoo is a tattoo studio at 3307 Glendale Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. It covers this website, our INKy text messaging service, and the records we keep for clients we tattoo.
Our INKy messaging and booking service is operated on our behalf by Sworn In LLC, Los Angeles, California.
The short version
- We do not sell your personal information. We never have.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- This website has no advertising trackers, no analytics, and no third-party marketing pixels.
- You can opt out of our text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You must be 18 or older to use INKy or to be tattooed here.
Text messages — the INKy program
INKy is our AI tattoo concierge. It answers questions about tattoo styles, art history, aftercare and booking, and it sends appointment confirmations and reminders. INKy messages come from 747-298-INKY (747-298-4659).
How you opt in
You opt in yourself — either on our web consent form or in person at the studio — by entering your mobile number and checking a box that says you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from INKy. We never add a number on someone’s behalf, and we do not buy, rent or import phone number lists. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of any tattoo service.
What you should expect
- Recurring automated messages: AI answers to your questions, aftercare guidance, scheduling help, appointment confirmations, and studio updates.
- Message frequency varies with your activity — typically 1–10 messages per month.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any INKy message to opt out. You will get one confirmation message and then nothing further. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at info@brokenarttattoo.com or 323-661-4777.
What we do with your number
We use your mobile number only to run the messaging program described above. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented, or transferred to any third party for any purpose. The only companies that touch your number are the service providers who make the messages work — listed under Who we share information with — and each is contractually barred from using your information for their own marketing.
What we collect
When you visit this website
This site has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no marketing pixels, and it sets no cookies of its own. Like every website, our host records standard server log data — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — which is used for security and to keep the site running.
When you chat with INKy
If you use the INKy chat window on this site, we receive the messages you type and store the conversation so INKy can keep context and so we can improve its answers. Please do not put sensitive personal details into the chat. If you opt in to text messages, we also collect your mobile number, your first name if you give it, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, the date and time of your consent, and the IP address and browser used to give it — that last part is the record proving consent was real.
When you book an appointment or get tattooed
To take a booking and to meet California’s requirements for tattoo studios, we collect your name, date of birth, address, email, phone number, your signature on our consent form, and a photograph of your government-issued ID for age verification. These records are stored in our booking system. We do not use them for marketing.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and respond to you.
- To schedule, confirm and remind you about appointments.
- To provide aftercare guidance.
- To verify that clients are 18 or older and to keep the consent records the law requires.
- To improve INKy’s responses.
- To keep our site and systems secure.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers who operate parts of this service for us:
- Twilio — delivers our text messages.
- Supabase — secure database storage for bookings and consent records.
- Anthropic — generates INKy’s AI responses.
- Cloudflare — hosts and protects this website.
Each is contractually prohibited from using your information for its own marketing purposes. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our clients, our staff or the public.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- We do not send you marketing texts you did not ask for.
- We do not use your consent records, ID or tattoo history for advertising.
Third-party content on this site
Two things on this site are loaded from other companies, and your browser contacts them directly when a page loads:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site.
- YouTube hosts the videos embedded on our blog. YouTube may set its own cookies when you play one. Those cookies are governed by Google’s privacy policy, not ours.
Links to our Instagram, Facebook and other profiles are ordinary links — nothing is embedded and nothing is shared with those companies unless you click through.
How long we keep information
- SMS enrollment: for as long as you stay opted in.
- Conversation history: 12 months.
- Consent forms and client records: we keep these for at least four years after your most recent visit, so we can answer any health or liability question about work we performed. California’s Safe Body Art Act requires the health information you give us to be kept confidential and handled appropriately; it does not set a fixed retention period for these records, so the period above is ours.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
Security
We use encrypted transmission and secure, access-controlled storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not keep anything we do not need, and access is limited to the people who run the studio.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy of it, to request that we delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither), and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email info@brokenarttattoo.com or write to us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request about personal information.
Age requirement
Broken Art Tattoo serves adults only. INKy is available only to people 18 or older, verified by an explicit self-certification at opt-in, and we verify photo ID in the studio before any tattoo. This site and this service are not directed to children. If we learn we have collected information from anyone under 18, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes affecting the messaging program will also be communicated by text where appropriate.
